2016 Warrior Games


                We all have a strong need for community. Dave Tripp and Dave Flint as owners and coaches as well as the rest of the team of Land Warrior CrossFit have steadily over the last few years been building an amazing community within the larger CT CrossFit Community.  I had the opportunity to experience their 3rd annual Warrior Games.  I wasn’t disappointed .  They put on a great event and it gets better every year. 

                This year they doubled last years participants with 49 teams which included:

                18 male Rx teams

                8 male scaled

                11 Female Rx teams

                12 scaled Female teams

                They also went from 5000 in cash and prizes to 7000, NOT bad! Bears Smokehouse BBQ provided the food and 100% of their profits went to K9s for Warriors.  Their mission statement is “K9s for Warriors is dedicated to providing service canines to warriors suffering from post traumatic stress, disability, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma as a result of military service post 9/11.  Our goal is to empower them to return to civilian life with dignity and independence."

                There were three WODs for the day with a final 4th WOD for those teams that qualified.

WOD 2:

8:00 to establish


100 Double unders or 80 single unders for scaled
80 wall balls
60 box jumpovers or step ups for scaled
40 pull ups

The completion was tough with a 4 way tie for the female scaled and a 2 way tie for 3rd in the mens scaled after 3 WODs!
