Michael E Walsh was an avid runner, starting in high school and onto the cross country team at Fordham University. He was out for a jog earlier this year, preparing for a race when he was tragically hit by a plow and killed.
Michael volunteered each week at the food pantry and homeless shelter. So proceeds from the event will be donated to Friends in Service to Humanity of Northwestern CT. Michael was also on track to becoming a medical doctor.
The race is presented by Medical Oncology + Blood Disorders LLP, where his mother works.
All of us, whatever our sport face risks of injury even death. This race is a great opportunity to show support for Michael and his family.
The race is this Sunday June 28 you can go to http://michaelewalsh5k.org/ for more info or to event management at http://firstmile-fitness.com/events/
