Saturday was a beautiful day to be outside. A great day for a hike, or a ride on a bike trail. It was also opening day…of the Ellington Farmers Market that is.
The market is every Saturday from May to October (9 AM to 12:30). This Saturday was especially busy as everyone was excited to get out in the warmer weather and see what the vendors had for sale.
There were people selling everything from plants for your garden , eggs and meats fresh from the farm, and even seafood fresh from the waters of CT’s coast.
While at the market, I purchased some salmon from The Fish Market as well as salad greens from Maple Knoll Farms. Both were on the table from dinner Saturday night an I am happy to say that there were no leftovers. Everything was delicious!
So if you are looking for a nice way to spend a Saturday morning, or something fresh from the farm (or the ocean) to prepare for your family, check out Ellington’s Farmer Market and all of the other markets listed on our site. You won’t be upset you did.
